Aluminum Coil-Over-Plug Removal Tool for BMW motorcycles fitted with Stick Coils.

The machined billet metal stick coil removal tool replaces the flimsy plastic coil removal tool sold by BMW.

NOTE: Do NOT remove stick coils from your vehicle using pliers!

Using the Stick Coil Removal Tool

The coil over plug also known as a "stick coil" has a indentation on either side of the cap. Our coil removal tool is designed to attach to the stick coil cap using the two indentations to lock in place. Once you have a secure hold on the ignition stick coil pull on the handle of the coil extractor slowly and steadily to avoid any damage to the ignition coil. Damage may be caused to the stick coil if yanked quickly or if the connection between coil and tool is inadequate. Grip can be increased by inserting a screwdriver into the hole of the coil removal tool. Again, it is very important that you pull the coil slowly and steadily easing the coil straight out. If the coil is unusually difficult to remove do NOT try and force it out or you will break the cap off of the coil. Using a spray lubricant such as silicone spray, lubricate the seal just below the cap on the stick coil that comes in contact with the valve cover. Once lubricated the coil should be easily removed.
